Metsä Tissue’s practices during the coronavirus pandemic

The safety of our employees and the communities in which we operate is our number one priority. We monitor the development of the coronavirus pandemic closely and update our employee guidelines and policies regularly based on any new information made available by global and local authorities.

Metsä Tissue’s mother company Metsä Group has a dedicated crisis team monitoring the effects of the pandemic and to share information and best practices within Metsä. The team provides regular instructions to employees on how to implement needed safety measures.

The measures we are taking to ensure the safety of our employees and partners include the following:
  • We follow and comply with the advice of the authorities.
  • Actions to prevent the spreading of the virus at the workplaces are of utmost importance. These actions include washing hands thoroughly, staying at home if any kind of symptoms of illness appear and keeping distance to other people.
  • All travel is to be avoided.
  • Remote working from home has been implemented where possible in order to ensure safety and an uninterrupted service to our customers.
  • All visits to Metsä Tissue offices and mills are restricted.
  • Preventive actions are applied at all Metsä Tissue production sites including strict procedures for working arrangements, minimizing physical contact, ensuring good hand hygiene as well as precise cleaning practices.

Metsä Tissue is a producer of tissue papers and we recognize the importance of our business continuity in keeping up the supply of everyday basic products to the communities around us. We are working hard to ensure that we can serve our customers as seamlessly as possible and we make sure to have contingency plans in place and regularly updated to secure continuity also in exceptional situations.
