Consumer and customer driven product development is one of the cornerstones of Metsä Tissue’s business strategy. Our goal is to develop innovative concepts and solutions for households and professional use.
To support our product development, we gather in-depth knowledge of our markets and customers.
With the help of market research and focus group studies, we identify the needs, wishes and opinions of consumers as well as retailers, wholesalers and distributors.
We follow trends closely and apply this knowledge in product design. Some of the key global drivers affecting our business today are environmental awareness, convenience, health and wellbeing, everyday luxury and on-the-go lifestyles. Sustainability in all forms is an integral part of every development project.
Our research & development centre in Germany is responsible for product development and intellectual property in the fields of papermaking, converting, additives, packaging and dispensing. Product development is carried out in close cooperation with our business areas, production units, suppliers and customers. Research & developent centre is also involved in technology development with machine manufacturers as well as in external research projects together with universities and research institutes.
