We want to be part of people’s everyday life – and every aspect of it. Our initiative for better school hygiene is one good example of our active involvement and cooperation with customers and end users.
Our first study on the wellbeing of school children and school hygiene was conducted in the Nordic countries in 2005. We later enlarged the scope of the study to Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom, covering a total of over 4,000 children and their parents.
According to the study, children prefer not to use school toilets, contrary to what their parents had assumed. Based on this result, we have arranged seminars with teachers on hand hygiene, sponsored new Katrin washroom equipment at disadvantaged schools and organized events to emphasise the importance of hygiene.
