Climate change is one of the greatest environmental challenges facing the world today.
Metsä Tissue strives to reduce the climatic impact of its actions, particularly by saving energy and enhancing its energy efficiency. As part of the Metsäliitto Group’s Climate Programme, we have committed ourselves to reducing our total energy consumption by 20 per cent from the present level by the end of 2012.
We aim to achieve this goal within three years by rationalising our production processes, by training our personnel and by making all necessary investments. We will additionally introduce a certified Energy Efficiency System (EES) at all our production units by the end of 2009. EES is a management tool for continuous, systematic improvement of energy efficiency.
