Global compact A joint initiative launched by the United Nations 

The Metsäliitto Group supports the ten principles of the United Nations’ Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption and is committed to advancing these principles within its sphere of influence.

The Global Compact is a joint initiative launched by the United Nations together with business to advance responsible corporate citizenship. Its ten principles enjoy universal consensus being derived from:

• The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
• The International Labour Organization's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
• The Rio Declaration on Environment and Development
• The United Nations Convention against Corruption.
