Metsä Tissue Zilina mill’s finished goods warehouse was destroyed by a fire on Sunday night, 2 March 2008. The warehouse contained stocks equivalent to over two weeks’ production.

The reason behind the fire is still unclear and the police is investigating the case. One outside person has been arrested for questioning.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the fire and no other assets at the mill have got damages. The property has been insured.

Metsä Tissue is working hard to ensure that the customers will receive supplies as normally as possible in spite of these exceptional circumstances. A plan for temporary warehousing is being prepared.
