New operation model enhances customer focus and improves internal efficiency

Metsä Tissue's key business issues in year 2007 and beyond are to improve customer focus and profitability while continuously improving cost efficiency. A special focus is put on to integrate the Central European and Russian operations to Metsä Tissue's common business model.
In order to support these objectives Metsä Tissue operation model will be adjusted with effect from 1. January 2007. The aim of this change is to clarify roles, responsibilities and accountability and to strengthen the supply chain management, marketing and human resources functions across the whole company.
Business areas continue to have full responsibility for business and customers and are headed as follows:
Consumer Northern Europe, Paavo Liestalo*, Senior Vice President (SVP)
Consumer Continental Europe and UK, Antti Pokki*, SVP
Away-from-Home, Kari Muttilainen*, SVP
Baking & Cooking, Raija Mörö*, SVP
Table Top, Michael Päckner*, SVP
Corporate functions serve all businesses, while creating efficient and common ways of working throughout Metsä Tissue.
Finance, Petri Kansi*, CFO
Human resources, to be appointed
Marketing, Marko Risku, Vice President, Brand Marketing
Supply chain*, to be appointed
Technology & Operations, Lars Warvne*, SVP, Technology & Operations and COO
Management Team* consists of CEO Hannu Kottonen, business area and defined corporate function heads. All business area and corporate function heads report to the CEO.
On top of their main duties the Country managers and/or Managing Directors report as follows:
Finland - Raija Mörö and Scandinavia - Lars Warvne to Hannu Kottonen.
Germany - Hubert Schönbein, Poland - Juha Tilli, Slovakia - Olli-Matti Tahvanainen and Tissue Canarias to Antti Pokki.
Russia - Jouni Kosloff to Paavo Liestalo
