Our products are manufactured in Finland, Sweden, Germany, Poland and Slovakia. We are committed to conducting our business in a responsible manner and taking into account the social, environmental and economic impacts of our actions. Our nine mills are located within our main market areas and our products are manufactured as close to consumers as possible, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and transportation needs as efficiently as possible.
Being part of Metsä Group, our value chain reaches all the way from the raw material to the end product. Metsä Group has the raw-material supply in its own control, which makes Metsä Tissue unique among European tissue suppliers. Our value chain enables good availability of the fresh fibre raw material, resulting in a good product availability for our customers and eventually end users. In addition, we are able to monitor and impact the sustainability of the whole value chain with our own actions. Our value chain ensures sustainability throughout the chain. We want to be the preferred partner in developing sustainable business.
Renewable fresh fibre is the main raw material of our tissue paper products. We obtain it from forests that grow more than they are used and whose biodiversity is ensured. As part of Metsä Tissue’s climate- and material-efficient use of wood, fresh fibre also paves the way for an efficient circular economy.
Our sustainability objectives encourage us to engage in continuous improvement. Metsä Tissue targets fossil-free mills and (own produced) products, reduction of logistics emissions, and works towards a 100% safe and ethical workplace by 2030.
We aim at world-class environmental performance with our Future Mill concept and are planning or conducting related investments in the UK and in Mariestad, Sweden as well as elsewhere in our European mill fleet.
