Our main brands are Lambi, Serla, Mola, Tento, Katrin and SAGA. We have eleven production units located in Finland, Germany, Poland, Russia, Slovakia and Sweden and we employ some 3,150 people. In value terms Metsä Tissue is the fourth largest supplier of tissue paper products in Europe and we are the market leader in the Nordic countries, the Baltic States, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We are also the world’s leading supplier of baking and cooking paper products.
We supply toilet tissue, household towels, handkerchiefs, napkins and facial tissue under the well-known brands Lambi, Serla, Mola and Tento. Our Katrin brand targeted at professional users offers total hygiene solutions for workplaces, washrooms and wellbeing. The Katrin product range includes paper towels, industrial wipes and dispensing systems. Our baking and cooking brand SAGA, comprises a wide offering of baking and cooking papers as well as related know-how for both professional and household use.
In addition to our own brands, we develop and manufacture a range of supplier label products as well as tailored customer label products for leading European retailers. Customer and consumer driven product development is one of the cornerstones of Metsä Tissue’s business strategy. We strive to find the best possible concepts and solutions meeting the specific needs of our customers and consumers. Their feedback is crucial when we innovate new products at our R&D centre (Competence Centre Tissue, CTT) in Germany.
Metsä Tissue has eleven production units: three in Germany, three in Sweden, two in Poland, and one each in Finland, Slovakia and Russia. Our total annual paper production capacity is over 630,000 tonnes, with tissue papers accounting for 600,000 tonnes.
Sustainability is something we take very seriously. We lead the tissue industry in developing low-impact processes and practices. Recycled fibre accounts for 60% of the fibre we use, and all our primary fibre suppliers are chain-of-custody certified, ensuring sustainable forest management. Our mills have quality and environmental management systems complying with international ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
Metsä Tissue is part of the Metsäliitto Group, one of the largest forest industry groups in the world. Other key shareholders are Finnish and Slovakian investors.
