“I started my career as an assistant trainee at Finnforest in 2004. Like Metsä Tissue, Finnforest is part of Metsäliitto Group. After my traineeship, I continued my studies for a few months before officially joining Metsä Tissue. After working as an assistant for a year, I secured a position in Consumer Marketing. Since then, I have worked on various brand marketing assignments and was appointed Regional Marketing Manager in September 2009. I consider Metsä Tissue to have an excellent working spirit and I am inspired to have colleagues from so many different countries. We are an action-oriented team.
I am responsible for regional marketing in Finland, Russia, the Baltic countries and the former Soviet countries. When the brand team introduces a new product, I handle campaign planning, which includes things like media purchases and package promotions. On top of that, I ensure the smooth and timely implementation of the launch plan in the regions for which I am responsible. I cooperate closely with the sales department in producing support material for the sales teams. We always identify clear targets for every new campaign, and afterwards we analyse how well those targets were attained.
It has been a pleasure to work for Metsä Tissue, which I consider to be a fair employer. In my job, I need special skills in project management and planning. In a multicultural environment, social skills are no less important. I also have to be flexible, ready to travel and sales-minded. In this position, I travel quite a lot,weekly or bi-monthly. With flexible working hours, I have quite a lot of freedom to choose when I work. Good language skills are also important in my job. My Russian skills are adequate, but I prefer to conduct business negotiations in English.
I’m target minded and very motivated, as my own work-related goals are well in line with our sales objectives.
The highlight of my career was undoubtedly the launch of the Lambi Limited Collection, which focused on bringing design into the everyday life of the consumer. It was great to see the project through from the beginning to the very end. We have strong brands and I love working with them!”
