In my role as key account manager for the Western Europe region, I give special attention to our major clients and handle international coordination between our sales teams in western, central and eastern Europe. I invest time into building close relationships with our customers – reliability and service excellence are the key words.
Every day of my work is different. It’s great to be involved in the whole process from the groundwork of meeting customers and negotiating conditions through to securing a sale and after-sales support. In my work, I need good planning skills, an in-depth understanding of the account business and the ability to involve my colleagues and secure their commitment. Naturally, language skills and cultural understanding are extremely important in my work.
It’s my job to ensure that we are always prompt, reliable and responsive to the customer. Understanding the customer’s business is absolutely vital for our success tomorrow. In my frontline role, I can see various international trends emerging, yet with certain local differences. Web presence is becoming more important than ever, and adding value by surprise is always appreciated – always aim to give a little bit more.
